Like so many others my interest of photography began with Life Magazine. When the new issues came out I would study each image and dream of someday traveling or being able to make images like the ones I was so enamored with. In high school a very wise and thoughtful teacher suggested I join the annual and newspaper staff as a photographer so my creative impulses would, shall we say, be channeled in a more positive path. After college armed with my first 35mm camera, and a job as a mountain guide I began making mountain landscape images. In 2001 my passion for birds and my photography collided and I’ve been on the chase since then.
